Weekend Urgent Care Service for our Rural Community
The Weekend Urgent Care Service, started over 6 months ago as a pilot service operating at weekends. We are now about to embark on an exciting collaboration between three neighbouring practices:
Ivy Court Surgery in Tenterden, Woodchurch Surgery, Charing Surgery and Hamstreet Surgery
The level of care has been extended to all patients registered at any of the above four practices.
From Saturday 6th September, the service will be provided at:
Ivy Court Surgery, Tenterden on SATURDAY MORNINGS ONLY from 09:00 – 12:00
Hamstreet Surgery on SUNDAY MORNINGS ONLY from 09:00 – 12:00
This is a weekend walk-in service for patients registered at any of the three surgeries who would otherwise have called 111 or attended A&E. Patients may be seen for urgent healthcare problems, illnesses and minor injuries only and patients will be seen in order of clinical need. Serious or emergency cases should still continue to access A&E. You will not be seen for routine problems at this time and our dispensary at Hamstreet will not be open on Sunday.
There will be a receptionist, a nurse and GP staff who will be from our local three practices, but may be working outside their own practice.
We aim to continue to offer a high quality service and the reassurance of seeing a Local GP for Urgent Care needs in a Local Surgery.
We are also starting to work together, across our three Practices, to develop innovative new community services for the benefit of all our patients and by collaborating we hope to be able to be more responsive to the particular needs of our patients in our part of Kent.
